Angela M. O'Neal
I was raised on art through my Mother. My paternal Father made his living through art as well. So, even though it was in my blood, I never thought that would be my path. However, and finally, at age 51, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. The first time I was handed a brush and a canvas and told to ‘paint something’ I was only appeasing a dear friend, but as soon as I began to lay down paint I was hooked. Now I view everything I see through new eyes, and I get excited by beautiful images, especially in nature.
Over the last few years I’ve sold my art near and far. I have paintings in Nevada, Oklahoma, and Mississippi–perhaps other places I can’t remember. I have never been a competitive person, but I decided to enter an art contest this Spring, 2017, and won a blue ribbon in the watercolor category at the Biloxi Veterans Administration Medical Center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I have several commissioned works, and will accept commissions, however I do prefer the freedom of self-expression. I am happy to have my work for sale and on display here at the Galleria and also at New Life Harmony in Gulfport. My art is also available through online galleries at www.fineartamerica.com and www.artpal.com.
